Srixon Cleveland Staff Player Keegan Bradley Wins the US PGA Championship
Srixon Cleveland Staff Player Keegan Bradley, 25 year old ‘rookie’ on tour, secured his place in major history in sensational style with a play-off victory in the US PGA Championship.
Bradley went into the last 3 holes 5 shots off the lead after his chip shot at 15 went across the green into the water, leading to a triple bogey. “I just kept telling myself, ‘Don’t let that hole define this whole tournament,’” Bradley said.
He went on to birdie 2 of the last 3 holes and card a 72 hole total of 8 under par. Meanwhile, the pressure was getting to tournament leader Jason Dufner, who’s tee shot at 15 found the water, leading to the first of 3 straight bogeys over the closing holes. He closed out the round with par at 18 to match Bradley’s 8 under total and take the 2 players into a 3 hole play-off.
Bradley took charge of the play-off with a birdie at the 16th hole and he never looked back. Dufner ended his final challenge at level par giving Keegan Bradley the tournament victory by 1 shot.
The Srixon Cleveland player first displayed his potential with a maiden victory at this years Byron Nelson Championship and has now become only the 3rd player in the last 100 years to secure a major championship win at his first attempt.
