Tim Clark takes Srixon 2008 tour wins over the record.
Mon December 1st 2008
32 Year old South African Staff Player TIM CLARK came from nowhere with a last round 67 in the 4th and final round of the Australian Open at Royal Sydney, to force a play off with Australian Mathew Goggin on 9 under par, that Clark then won at the 1st extra hole bringing Srixon 2008 wins to a record 40.
Henrik Stenson secured his first victory of his year, with success in winning 2008 The World Cup at Mission Hills in China, in partnership with Robert Karlssson, for Sweden. He followed that by destroying the Gary Player Course at Sun City, to post a 21 under par score to win the Nedbank Golf Challenge, the second biggest winning margin in the history of the tournament. This included five birdies with final-hole bogey the only blip on his scorecard.
They played their last round of foursomes in 9 under par 63, for a 3 shot advantage over fellow Srixon Z-UR player Miguel-Angel Jimenez and Pablo Larrazabal for Spain.
Robert Allenby's highly respectable third place finish (67) in the Australian Masters included a remarkable albatross 2 at the seventh hole in his third round. Srixon’s Tim Clark’s fourth place finish capped off another successful Australian Masters.
Other Srixon wins around the world this month include:
Garth Mulroy win on the Sunshine Tour
Miho Koga win on the Japan Ladies Tour
Komei Oda win at the Casio World Open on the Japan Tour
Takashi Miyoshi win on the Japan Seniors Tour
This fantastic month has taken Srixon’s total number of wins for 2008 to 40, already surpassing the all time record, and we aren’t even finished!
