E.G.G. Technology

Energetic Gradient Growth Core

EGG EGGEnergy Gradient Growth® or E.G.G. Is a patented Srixon technology that is utilised in the core of every single Srixon golf ball made.

E.G.G. Describes the varying stiffness of the Srixon core. This stiffness variation is employed to achieve benefits over a uniform-stiffness core.

This soft-to-firm stiffness configuration allows the golf ball to produce high ball speed and low driver spin.

E.G.G. Concept

EGG ConceptE.G.G. Is a patented multi-stage manufacturing process that uses a precisely controlled temperature vs. time curve to achieve this unique core.

By curing the core at different temperatures, Srixon engineers are able to achieve this stiffness variation within a single material component.

The best analogy for this process is cooking a steak. A good chef can use temperature and time to achieve a crispy outside and a soft inside or a consistent stiffness the whole way through.

E.G.G. Function

EGG FunctionE.G.G. technology is designed to take advantage of the benefits of both soft and firm cores.

Uniform stiffness cores, whether firm or soft, have disadvantages.

The E.G.G. core’s firm perimeter produces great ball speed while the soft inner region generates low driver spin for maximum distance.

E.G.G. And Multi-Layer

EGG Multi-LayerAchieving unique properties in different regions of the golf ball can be accomplished using technologies like E.G.G. or by adding components.

An E.G.G. core has a continuously varying stiffness profile unlike other multi-piece golf balls with discrete property regions that jump from one stiffness to the next.

Some manufacturers try to replicate this E.G.G. core by using multiple layers or dual-cores.
